How about (hint-wire 0) and (hint-wire 1) or perhaps using #t and #f? That
way they would be more easy to set as a result of some sort of calculation
or function. Especially for (hint-solid) we could use this; poor
(hint-solid) must feel a bit discriminated against.

Nice to discuss things and end up with productive conclusions like this in
such a way.
