i'm using fluxus on osx 10.5.8 with libglew 1.5.1_2 which seems to be
the latest from macports.

i believe the problem is something else. what hardware model are you 
using? try to disable glsl and multitexturing if it is not supported by 
the hardware. it is a know problem that fluxus crashes with an x3100 gpu 
on osx due to an osx driver problem.
