[fluxus] uninstall 0.7 before installing 0.8? [linux]

Hi,

I installed fluxus 0.7 a while ago and now id like to install 0.8. Im using
ubuntu linux which im new to, id like to know if its possible to uninstall 0.7
then install 0.8. When i installed 0.7 i used "make install" rather than "make
checkinstall" [or something like that] so fluxus doesnt show up in synaptic. Is
it ok to just go ahead and install the new one or is that gonna mess something
up.
