[Fluxus] piecing together framedumps?

Dear list,

The reference for (start-framedump) and (process) note that they result in a
set of images, rather a lot of images, with a piece the length of a average
pop-music track at 25fps giving us over 5000 pictures. Clearly nobody is
going to join those by hand.

What does one use for this, on Linux? Should I mind the format of the
original images or the final movie if I'd like to upload the end-result to
youtube or similar?
