[Fluxus] stack smashing detected on ubuntu 9.04

Hello,
I am quite new to fluxus and linux. I tried fluxus on windows and I have
decided to use it with full functionality. I downloaded ubuntu 9.04 and the
fluxus build yesterday. Everything seems to work fine except when I enter
certain commands like (help "rndvec") or (help "active-box") or if I run the
scenegraph-nav.scm from the examples folder I get a "stack smashing
detected" error.
Any suggestion is more than welcome.
