[Fluxus] X11 and OS X

on a mac, why not compile fluxus using X11? what changes need to be  
made to the SConstruct to do this?
does scons just check if you are using darwin?
if it does this could be very problematic for those who are on a PC  
running darwing and  X11, the makefile expects for OS X to be there,  
and would fail spectacularly (exaggeration) when it cannot find it.
what do these darwin people (and those on OS X who want to compile  
using X11) to make this happen?
