what is the largest number that (gh n) can return?
or, how can I scale it so that (colour (vector (gh 1) (gh 2) (gh 3)))  
is some colours other than completely white or completely black?

I don't want it to never be white, but not always be white. I tried  
doing (gain (any-number-less-than-what-it-was-previously)) but then it  
is almost always black or very dark.

what is the largest number it will return? and what is the best way to  
scale it for colour use?
