yes, these functions are written in scheme, and build on top of the
other fluxus commands (push, pop, etc etc) which interface with the C++.
the old commands are still available, so it's fully backward compatible
with older scripts

more and more of fluxus is written in scheme these days, see
fluxus/modules/scheme/
