the osX build is working, but fragile. Ive got a double-clickable app
bundle, but its a bit too dependent on particular locations of installed
libraries and having a specific version of PLT installed. its also intel
only for now.

Ill try to pull together a version which also runs on ppc, and is a bit
more flexible wrt. to the version of PLT installed. If i dont get any
closer to this by the end of the week, ill put what i have so far
online.
